Sound Therapy--Reduce frequency of brain waves by specific sound healing instruments

Sound Therapy can help us:

1. Improves sleep quality;

2. Relieves physiological and psychological stress and alleviates negative emotions;

3. Maintains brain and nervous system health;

4. Promotes activation and blood circulation;

5. Activates the immune system's self-healing power, serving as an adjunct to traditional medical treatments for chronic immune diseases;

Functions:

1. Balancing the Nervous System: Scientific research shows that prolonged and continuous sounds tend to be soothing and relaxing (parasympathetic response), while sharp and sudden sounds tend to trigger alertness and alarm (sympathetic response).

Sound acts on the body through the vagus nerve. The vagus nerve is the fundamental regulator of the parasympathetic nervous system. It is the longest nerve in the body, controlling all involuntary processes such as digestion and respiration, and is responsible for relaxation after stress or a stress response (activation of the sympathetic nervous system).

It originates in the brain behind the ear and connects downwards to all the major organs of the body. Back in the womb, sound is our first contact with the outside world. At 20 weeks of gestation, the ear is the first fully developed sensory organ, quickly beginning to distinguish between familiar and novel sounds.

This nerve connects to the posterior wall of the external auditory canal, the lower part of the tympanic membrane, and the middle ear: the stapes muscle. It continues downwards to the internal organs and is responsible for regulating the functions of the pharynx, larynx, chest, and abdomen. Sound vibrations often resonate in the eardrum via nerves, producing significant stimulation to all the vital internal organs reached by these nerves. This makes the ear a parasympathetic regulatory organ, controlling the vagus nerve to balance the nervous system. In addition, most cranial nerves are directly or indirectly connected to the ear.

This is why using sound therapy instruments like tuning forks and gongs can provide instant calm and relaxation, helping the body return to a parasympathetic state—the opposite of the sympathetic "fight or flight" mode triggered by stress. Low, sustained sounds tend to be soothing and relaxing (parasympathetic response), while sharp and sudden sounds often trigger alertness and alarm (sympathetic response).

2. Impact on Brain Health How does a healthy brain function? A healthy, balanced brain and nervous system will produce appropriate brainwaves at the appropriate levels and at the appropriate times. Modern medicine uses electroencephalography (EEG) to monitor brain activity. The brain produces five types of brainwaves, electrical impulses between neurons used to convey actions, emotions, and thoughts: Beta (13-38Hz), Alpha (8-12Hz), Theta (4-7Hz), Delta (1-3Hz), and Gamma (39-42Hz). The body enters Alpha when relaxed, focused, and in a state of tranquility. It enters Beta during anxiety and tension. Delta occurs during sleep, producing hormones crucial for repairing the brain and body. Gamma is the fastest brainwave (high frequency like a flute), associated with simultaneously processing information from different brain regions, such as the higher-dimensional expansion of the mind and consciousness. Gamma waves transmit information quickly and quietly. Most subtly, the brain must be quiet to enter Gamma. Theta stimulates the release of GABA, which balances the brain by inhibiting over-excitation. It is a "calming" or "peacemaker" chemical in the brain. GABA is needed to induce relaxation and reduce stress and anxiety.

The effect of sound therapy is to lower the frequency of brainwaves through the sounds and vibrations of specific therapeutic instruments over a certain period. This intervention to bring brainwaves to an appropriate state is called neurofeedback. Neurofeedback is a form of modern medical adjunctive therapy that intervenes in brainwaves through auditory stimulation retraining. This technique is non-invasive and safe. Through neurofeedback, we can improve attention, enhance memory and creativity, and improve communication skills. It can also be used to improve anxiety, depression, and promote better sleep quality. By helping people consciously activate different brainwave states, we are promoting more patterns of change in their brains, thereby making changes at the neural level. Help them "shift gears" in their lives by using sound stimulation.
